So that's happening.
I could write a long, sappy, philosophical post about it, and delve into all sorts of childhood dreams and good opportunities and all that jazz, but here's the thing: while all that's true, it's just...kind of a weird feeling.
Am I excited? Duh.
Am I vaguely scared? Of course.
And am I trying to figure out the logistics of moving halfway across the frigging country into an urban(ish) area that's hard to get around via car? Oh, yeah. And let me tell you, yikes.
Hence why I've been MIA. Sorry, y'all!
On the exciting end, though, my roommate (everyone say hi to Laura!) and I found an apartment! After a very stressful several days running about Upper Manhattan and a few neighborhoods in Brooklyn (which did also include a break to watch excerpts from the new Dave Malloy musical, whoop!), we found a lovely one in one of the neighborhoods surrounding Prospect Park. It's small, of course, but not a closet, and with every modern utility one could need. It'll do just fine. :)
Now to figure out how to make it a home. I'll keep you updated as we go.
That's pretty much it for now! To give you something worth reading, though, catch my current obsessions!
TV Show: Queer Eye
I'm so behind on this, since I literally never watch television and am the worst binge-watcher on the planet. But oh my GOD, you guys, I weep at every episode! This wholesome, inclusive, hilarious, unifying content is what we NEED right now.
Book: Witch
My current non-fiction. Freaking phenomenal. It's, like, a female empowerment book combined with history combined with linguistics combined with political snark combined with damn good writing. It's fascinating and liberating all at once. (I'm specifically obsessed with Lisa Lister talking of the "witch wound" and the original meanings of witch, hag, and virgin, as they are absolutely not what we've spun them to mean now.) #wakethewitches
Tea: Matcha Green Latte from Trader Joe's
Delicious and so easy. You just pour hot water over the powder, and voila! I add a little soy milk, too. Mom may call it my "grass juice" (or something similar- I can't remember), but I love it!
Music: A weird mix of Lizzo, Johann Johannson, and CHVRCHES
Don't ask. They're all good. Dependent upon my mood, I either feel like a badass lady, a contented hopeless romantic, or a successful creative. Love all that. :)
Podcast: Not Your Father's History
The girls are back from hiatus! I've talked about this a lot, but, friends, you gotta listen to this one if you haven't. If you're not already a history nerd like me, it may make you one. Annika and Katie are snarky, hilarious, and brilliant, and so good at what they do. Agh. Just listen. So good. (Pretty sure they're available everywhere you get your podcasts?)
As Always: Self-Identity Stuff
I'm a Virgo, an INFP, and a Manifesting Generator. I'll figure out my Enneagram at some point. But, frankly, I love these categorization things, and all of mine are incredibly accurate. I think it helps me. Plus, they're interesting as all get out, so if anyone ever wants to talk astrology, Myers-Briggs, Life Design, or anything like that, I'm so down. So. Down.
Anyway, that's all. Have a great day, friends! Love ya! :)
